Colin Chapman aka Satori C
Bio
In 1995, Colin Chapman, a.k.a. Satori.C, bought his first pair of proper decks. A few years later Colin established his first residency at the well-known Soma nightclub. Along with close friend DJ Ivy, Colin used Soma to perfect his control over the crowd with many genres of music.
Colin also enjoyed a three year long residency with Basic Entertainment. During that time he warmed up the sound systems for world class talents: LTJ Bukem, Adam Freeland, Doc Martin, , Koma & Bones, Bad Boy Bill, Sandra Collins, DRC, Richie Hawtin, DJ Dan, Scott Hardkiss, Frankie Bones, Derrick Carter, Icey, Josh Wink, John Kelly, Donald Glaude, BabyAnne, and DJ Swamp. Urb Magazine made it a point to mention Satori.C’s opening set for LTJ Bukem in 1999.
Colin studied audio engineering at the University of Colorado, getting his BSM. Since graduating, he has produced, mixed, or mastered tracks for Instinct Records (LA), Dread Recordings (UK), Straylight (LA), Love Slap (SF), www.milehighhouse.com (CO), Boat Z Rec (Co), FISM (Co), and Persistence Recordings (Co). Studios that Colin has worked at include Immersive Studios, DMA Studios, Colorado Sound, and Airshow mastering, all nationally renowned in the recording industry.
If you see Satori.C today, there’s a good chance that he’s playing a free, outdoor party with his crew the Humble Souls / MotherEarthSoundSystem, or representing the crew at The Church or RedRocks. Either way Colin has his ear to a speaker, and his mind on his labor of love. Music!
